CONIFERS

Conifers are woody plants characterized by needle or scale like leaves and are known as Gymnosperms.They have woody cones for reproduction and are known to have naked seeds, and are evergreen in nature. They are adapted to cold climatic conditions with conical shapes to shed snow and have waxy coatings to prevent water loss.
Few conifers are deciduous plants.They come under the order Pinales in the division Pinophyta.
