资源简介:
These data are for the publication, which estimates the drag coefficient under 5 tropical cyclones by combing model simulations and EM-APEX float observations: "Zhou, Xiaohui, et al. "Drag coefficient and its sea state dependence under tropical cyclones." Journal of Physical Oceanography (2022), DOI:https://doi.org/10.1175/JPO-D-21-0246.1 " There are Six folders: (1) URIWindForcing: The 10-meter wind field of 5 TCs created by URI Parametric Wind model, which are used in this study; (2) U10_at_SFMR_Surveys: URI Wind Speed at SMFR survey location and time; (3) U10_Hs_at_NDBC: URI wind Speed and NDBC buoy observed wind speed at NDBC buoys; WW3 simulated significant wave height (hs) and NDBC buoy observed significant wave height at NDBC buoys; (4) Drag_Estimation_in_front_of_TCs_Fig9_10_11: the drag estimates based on EM-APEX observations and URI wind field in front of 5 TCs; (5) Drag_Estimation_and_WaveParameters_under_each_TC_Fig14_21: The Momentum Budget/Drag estimation based on model simulation and EM-APEX observations. The WW3 simulated significant wave height (Hs), wave age, input wave age, the wavelength at peak frequency (Lp), and misalignment between wind and wave (psi) are included. (6) EM-APEX_observations: The wind-driven current at EM-APEX floats under 5 TCs, it is from Dr. Je-Yuan Hsu at National Taiwan University and Dr. Eric D'Asaro at the University of Washington.
