Transgenerational exposure of C. riparius to microplastics

we investigated the genome-wide responses of the Chironomous riparius, an emerging model organism for evolutionary ecotoxicology, when exposed to virgin polyamide microplastics. To this aim, we employed an E&R approach for seven consecutive generations. With this technique we intended to infer the possibility of rapid adaption to microplastic exposure.
