资源简介:

Project title: The integrated reproductive response: reproductive consequences of seasonal phenotypic flexibility across fish populations Location: Inland freshwater ponds located across King City and Stouffville, Ontario, Canada Data Types: Fish gross morphology, organ morphology, and diet data collected during field sampling (FieldSamplingData), pond temperature data recorded every 30 minutes using HOBO pendant loggers (WaterTemp), gross gut morphology information collected after isolation of the gastrointestinal tract and separation into its component regions (GutMorphologyData), and water content data for liver and gonad tissue for a subset of the sampled fish (DryLiver, DryGonad). Timeline of Data Collection: Field samples collected from December 2020- September 2021; tissue samples analyzed from September 2021 to September 2023 Focal Taxa: Freshwater fish: pumpkinseed sunfish Lepomis gibbosus (females between 60 mm and 110 mm used in analyses but males included in attached datasets) Methods of Data Collection: Fish were sampled every 10-14 days across five pond sites across King City and Stouffville, Ontario from January to August, 2021 using a combination of rod-and-reel angling and clover leaf fish traps baited with ~50 ml of chicken-flavoured dog kibble, with an encolsed bait container preventing consumption of bait. A subset of captured fish were dissected fully to collect body and organ morphology data and diet information. Collected tissues were then analyzed in the lab for lipid, water, and protein content, as well as dry mass. File Library [see IntRepResp_README.md for file metadata]: Code: SEM.R, PeakTraitComparison.R; Data files: FieldSamplingData.csv, GutMorphologyData.csv, WaterTemp.csv, DryLiver.csv, DryGonad.csv
