HII region candidates in IRAS with compact WISE sources

The HII regions trace high-mass stars and play an important role in our understanding of the star formation of the Milky Way. While the total number ofthe HII regions are not clear. In this work, we use color-color diagrams to select a sample of HII regions, which are compact in morphology. Within the infrared color selected HII region candidates, we investigate the compact HII region candidates with WISE images. We found 348 new compact HII regions, among which 100 sources are point-like sources in ALLWISE and some show infrared bubbles. This is a useful candidate catalog to study high-mass stars at early stages, and following investigations are strongly recommended.
