Rhinopithecus roxellana Raw sequence reads

This dataset contains 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing data of fecal samples collected from captive Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus roxellana) at the Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo, China. A total of 32 samples were obtained from three age groups: infants (14-18 days old), juveniles/subadults (2-5 years old), and adults (7-14 years old). The purpose of this study was to characterize the gut microbiota composition and diversity across developmental stages and to investigate potential pathogenic bacteria associated with the low survival rate of captive infant monkeys. Sequencing was performed on the Illumina MiSeq platform.
