Homo-40S of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and its suppressors

We homogenize the cellular 40S ribosomes through deleting the whole set of alternative duplicated genes encoding yeast 40S RP paralogs. This strain(Homo-40S) shows atrong sensitivity to the translation inhitor paromomycin. We use three suppressor strains of Homo-40S to better undersand the machanism of paromomycin sensitivity of Homo-40S. Basides that, we deloy evolution experiments on Homo-40S and get 2 evolvers to determine the long-term effect of yeast cells with the engineered homogeneous 40S ribosome subunit.
