Geographical word lists for pedagogical purposes

The dataset was created for the purposes of the author's PhD thesis, titled “Teaching English Geographical Vocabulary with the Use of a Corpus-based List and Pedagogical Translation”, supervised by Monika Kavalir and Darja Mertelj. Part of the study was published in the journal English for Specific Purposes in an academic paper titled “Compiling a Custom Corpus and Word List for ESAP: The Case of English for Geographers”, authored by Andreja Drašler and Monika Kavalir.

The dataset includes four word lists:

1.      Geographical word list for pedagogical purposes – single words (ranked by keyness score)

2.      Geographical word list for pedagogical purposes – multi-word items (ranked by keyness score)

3.      Geographical word list for pedagogical purposes – single words (ranked by document frequency)

4.      Geographical word list for pedagogical purposes – multi-word items (ranked by document frequency)
