Source- and Load-Terminal Electrical Responses under Representative Fault Conditions in Shearer Power-Core Cables

This dataset contains source- and load-terminal three-phase voltage and current responses generated for a representative MCP-0.66/1.14 3×95 + 1×35 + 4×10 shearer power-core cable system. The electrical responses were obtained using a distributed-parameter multi-conductor source–cable–load model comprising a balanced 660 V, 50 Hz three-phase source, a 100 m cable section, and a 75 kW asynchronous motor. The dataset includes five operating conditions: normal operation; single-phase grounding; inter-phase short circuit; open-circuit fault; and equivalent insulation disturbance represented by a resistive–capacitive branch. For each condition, voltage and current signals were recorded at both the source and load terminals. The simulation duration was 2 s, and the fault conditions were activated at 0.5 s. The waveform records therefore contain pre-fault, switching, and post-fault responses. The five MATLAB data files are: case1_normal.mat: normal operating condition; case1_ground_A.mat: Phase-A single-phase grounding condition; case1_phase_AB.mat: Phase-A–Phase-B inter-phase short-circuit condition; case1_open_A.mat: Phase-A open-circuit condition; case1_breakdown_A.mat: equivalent Phase-A insulation disturbance. The equivalent insulation-disturbance file represents the terminal-scale response of an RC-type degraded dielectric path. It should not be interpreted as pulse-resolved partial-discharge data and does not contain apparent charge, defect geometry, discharge inception voltage, or phase-resolved partial-discharge patterns. The dataset supports reproducible waveform analysis, source-to-load response comparison, feature extraction, condition classification, and evaluation of data-driven and physics-informed cable-monitoring methods.
