Images and Site Records from an Archaeological Evaluation at Fox Wood Garden Village, Whiston, Merseyside April 2022

This collection comprises images and site records from a trial trench evaluation of a proposed residential development on land at Halsnead Park to the south-west of Whiston, Merseyside. Work was commissioned by Lanpro Services on behalf of Taylor Wimpey North West and undertaken by Oxford Archaeology North in April 2022. Of the twenty-five trenches excavated, only one trench contained archaeological features, Trench 24, comprising undated ditches. Other trenches contained modern features corresponding to the geophysical survey, as well as potentially relating to the construction of the M62 motorway to the south of the development.
