Hyphantria cunea, commonly known as the fall webworm, is an invasive lepidopteran pest that causes significant defoliation of a wide range of deciduous trees and crops. Despite its economic and ecological impact, genomic and transcriptomic resources for this species remain limited. In this study, total RNA was extracted from larval samples and sequenced using the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 platform with paired-end reads. The goal of this project is to construct a comprehensive de novo transcriptome assembly to facilitate gene discovery and to provide foundational data for future studies on gene expression, insecticide resistance, development, and environmental adaptation. These transcriptome data will contribute valuable resources for molecular research and integrated pest management strategies targeting this species.
