Environmentally isolated Chondria armata hologenome sequencing and assembly

Chondria armata is a producer of the marine neurotoxin, domoic acid (DA), and has traditionally been used in Japan to treat intestinal worm infections. This sequencing project identified the first red algal DA biosynthetic genes and supports our understanding of the distribution and evolutionary history of DA biosynthesis.
