Isolation, identification, and biological characteristics analysis of plant lactobacilli that inhibit common Vibrio species in abalone

The study aims to isolate and characterize Lactobacillus plantarum strains from rice wine lees, evaluating their potential as probiotics for abalone (Haliotis discus hannai) aquaculture. This research seeks to assess the strains' biological properties, including their ability to inhibit pathogenic bacteria, enhance growth performance, and improve the immune response of abalone. Given the rising concerns over antibiotic use in aquaculture, the project is relevant for developing sustainable, antibiotic-free alternatives that can promote the health and productivity of abalone, thereby contributing to more environmentally friendly aquaculture practices. The findings will provide insights into the application of beneficial microorganisms in improving aquaculture sustainability and productivity.
