Uncultured endosymbiont bacterium of Eucomonympha sp. The endosymbiont is affiliated to the genus Treponema. The host Eucomonympha sp. is an uncultured protist species belonging to the phylum Parabasalia. Eucomonympha sp. inhabits the gut of the termite Hodotermopsis sjoestedti. A single cell of the endosymbiont was isolated and its DNA was amplified by MDA.
