NRS-22145 | Melbourne Astrographic plates [Sydney Observatory]

This series contains records relating to the cataloguing of the positions of stars in the Melbourne region, including a region around the south celestial pole. Records include early versions of the Melbourne Catalogue as well as methods for recording data, administrative processes and some correspondence about the Catalogue. From 1944, after the closure of the Melbourne Observatory, this work was taken over by the Sydney Observatory and many Melbourne records were relocated to the Sydney Observatory.
