4D-STEM dataset of an apoferritin protein, produced from the "biological assembly" file from the RCSB PDB 8rqb record. The protein model was embedded in vitreous-ice using the continuum water model described in https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jsb.2012.04.021. The following parameters were used: Convergence semiangle: 4 mrad Acceleration voltage: 300 kV Defocus: 1.5 um Scan step-size: 3.555 A Diffraction pixel-size: 0.307617 mrad Relative diffraction-scan coordinates rotation: -15 deg Poisson noise: 30 e / A^2 (followed by binarization, such that diffraction pattern values are either 0 or 1) Simulation performed using the abTEM software, using code similar to this tutorial notebook.
