The improvement effect of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation in alleviating irritable bowel syndrome with constipation: role of vagus nerve

This study was conducted to obstruct the afferent signals of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) by implementing a blockade of the auricular branch of the vagus nerve. Additionally, subdiaphragmatic vagus nerve was abolished to inhibit the efferent of vagal signals to the intestine.
