Monash Learning and Teaching Conference 2025: Building Connections: How AI Tools Shape Information Discovery
收藏资源简介:
This poster visualises how scholarly knowledge flows from research papers into the AI-powered tools now used for literature discovery—such as research assistants and citation mapping tools. Highlighting key tool features and how data flows between them, we reveal a critical gap in research literacy: students and researchers increasingly rely on these tools, but often lack awareness of what sources they are searching and what they might be missing. Our key finding: understanding how a tool gathers and filters information is essential for effective discovery. Otherwise, key perspectives can be overlooked. This work is part of a broader Library initiative in which Librarians critically explore emerging AI tools, teach research literacy in classes, run student workshops, and consult with researchers across disciplines.
