The active meta-transcriptome in colorectal cancer was analysed. The study sequenced both 16S SSU rRNA markers and total RNA meta-transcroptomes from faecal samples of 10 people with colorectal cancer (CRC) and 10 without. These data allowed comparisons of both the microbial community compositions and metabolic and biochemical activity in CRC- associated and non-CRC-associated microbiota.
