Two soil samples from along Willow Creek in western Colorado were floated to recover
organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon analysis. These samples were recovered from
downstream of Willow Creek Dam, about 0.75 miles upstream of the confluence of Willow Creek
and the Colorado River. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially
radiocarbon datable material was separated.
