Description
Forest_basal_area_m2_ha.csv contains basal area data (m2/ha) for forests around the world used to produce Fig. 7, plus ancillary data from the same sites. These data are from references in published compilations (e.g., Cannell 1982) listed in the column "Source," and individual publications which are listed either in the column "Source" or "Reference." Figure 7 is based on data in the columns Lat, Long, and BA(m^2). Only sites with age identified as mature ("M") or as greater than 50 years old were used in the figure. Missing values are indicated as "-1".  This file overlaps with sites in Supplement 2, but includes numerous additional sites for which only BA data were available.
