The effect of intestinal microbiota after intestinal ischemia-reperfusion in rats

This study aimed to investigate the protective effects and potential mechanisms of pretreatment with Potentilla anserina capsules on Intestinal ischemia-reperfusion injury in a rat model. Methods: Twenty-four rats were randomly assigned to three groups (n=8 each). Group 1 underwent a sham operation, whereas groups 2 and 3 were subjected to II-R injury. Groups 1 and 2 received isotonic sodium chloride, whereas group 3 received Potentilla anserina (54 mg/kg/day) for 7 days prior to II-R. The rats were sacrificed by exsanguination at the 1st hour of reperfusion, and ileal tissue, contents, and feces were collected for analysis. The impact of 16S rDNA sequencing on the gut microbiota structure of cecal contents from experimental rats was evaluated.
