Genomic epidemiology of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) and Non tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) in Selected Border regions of Tanzania. Our project focuses on the application of whole genome sequencing to delineate the diversity of tuberculosis pathogens and map their potential transboundary spill over across the East African Region. Our workflow integrates whole genome recovery and analysis of genetic diversity associated with virulence and antimicrobial resistance. Our data will enhance our understanding on the epidemiology of pulmonary tuberculosis, the role MTB and NTM and magnitude of their antimicrobial resistance, required for better management of the disease.
