We propose offset pointings of two intermediate ( M_{500} =1.5 - 3.5 times 10^{14} {rm M}_odot ) mass clusters MKW3s and A2589 to derive metal abundances up to 0.9 R_{500} and 0.7 R_{500} respectively a challenging distance for systems with these masses. By combining X-ray data with optical data we will derive the iron-yields for these systems and compare them with expected iron yields from supernova rates. Since intermediate mass clusters represent a bridge between galaxy groups and massive galaxy clusters this study will help to solve the conundrum of the different behavior of galaxy groups which seem to match expected values from supernovae and massive clusters which feature a discrepancy by a factor 3-7 .
