When investors were asked to choose between a higher rate of return on their investments or prioritization of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) related benefits, 39 percent of investors agreed they would accept a lower rate of return in exchange for ESG-related benefits. Almost half of the investors surveyed were not willing to accept lower returns.
