Precision Delivery of mRNA Therapeutics via Optimally Oriented Antibody-Targeted Lipid Nanoparticles

This thesis presents a new method for delivering mRNA treatments more safely and precisely to specific cells. Using a novel antibody-capture system, lipid nanoparticles are guided to target cells through optimally oriented surface antibodies. A "split-mRNA" design ensures the treatment becomes active only when both parts reach the same cell, reducing unwanted effects in healthy tissues like the liver. Tested with sensitive biosystems, this approach demonstrated high accuracy and minimal side effects. It offers a promising path toward safer, more targeted mRNA therapies for conditions such as cancer and autoimmune diseases.
