Active Layer ARCSS grid Barrow, Alaska 2012

Active Layer measurements were taken on a 30 plot subset within the ARCSS Grid in Barrow, Alaska. Each measurement was taken on the north eastern most corner of each plot. The chosen subset was located from D2-D7 and H2-H7. The SEL lab's CALM depth probe was used. Depth was measured on the probe as the distance from the frozen active layer to the top of the surface of the vegetation. If water was present, then it was measured to the top of the biomass.
