资源简介:
Cannabis is one of the most often used psychoactive chemicals in the world, and its legality and societal acceptability have increased in recent years. However, emerging data reveals a considerable link between cannabis usage and the emergence of psychotic illnesses, especially in persons with a genetic susceptibility. This study investigates the clinical, neurobiological, and epidemiological relationships between cannabis use and psychosis, focusing on the function of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabis' major psychoactive component, in altering brain circuits involved in cognitive and emotional control. Furthermore, we investigate the effects of chronic cannabis use on the course and prognosis of psychotic diseases, emphasizing the consequences for clinical practice, early intervention, and public health policy.
