Cecal bacterial composition from nursery pigs fed canola meal-based diets

Nursery pigs were divided into separate groups that were fed different canola meal-based diets: canola 20% inclusion, canola 40% inclusion, canola 40% inclusion + acidifier, canola 40% inclusion + BA, canola 40% inclusion + acidifier + BA. After 2 weeks, representative pigs from each treatment group were euthanized to collect digesta samples from the cecum. Microbial DNA was extracted from digesta, then the V1-V3 region of the bacterial 16S rRNA was targeted by PCR and sequenced using an Illumina MiSeq(2X300) platform.
