Through-Transmission Ultrasound Detection across Liquid-liquid Interfaces

This open-access dataset features paired experiment–simulation records for through-transmission ultrasound at extended liquid–liquid interfaces. It is curated to investigate the aperture-level phase cancellation that can be mistaken for sensitivity loss. The dataset includes time-domain pulses and frequency-domain spectra collected at various off-axis heights and across four propagation conditions (depth-labeled cases). Additionally, it provides reproducible Method of Fundamental Solutions (MFS) baselines and all necessary resources for side-by-side comparisons. The repository contains ready-to-run CLI templates (input and time-series YAMLs), a batch script for generating per-case configurations, and a LaTeX/TikZ figure wrapper to compile spectrum, waveform, and residual views from tab-separated tables. Comparison tables can be obtained in two ways: either by extracting the prepackaged plot data into `tikz/plot/<case>/` or by regenerating them from scratch. For the latter, you would (i) run the MFS pipeline as outlined in HOWTO-mfs-ultrasound-propagation to produce model outputs, and then (ii) export aligned experiment–model TSVs according to HOWTO-mfs-ultrasound-data, placing them into the designated `tikz/plot/<case>/` directories. Once the tables are in place, compiling the provided TeX file will generate the composite figures used in our analysis. This package prioritizes transparency and ease of reuse: users can examine the raw measurements, recreate the MFS predictions using published settings, and reproduce the exact plots that illustrate the phase-cancellation effect under controlled interface conditions.
