资源简介:
This dataset is a structured supplementary evidence base on the financial burden of health in Bangladesh. It contains 93 English-language studies published between 2005 and 2025, drawn from 50 journals, and combines bibliographic information with analytical coding for each article. The bibliographic fields include authors, title, abstract, DOI, journal, publisher, publication year, citations, and related indexing details. Beyond citation metadata, the dataset systematically extracts substantive review variables from each study. These include thematic classifications, study location, data nature, data period, data source, sample size, methodological approach, model specification, dependent variables, significant positive and negative determinants, and key empirical findings. It also codes studies across five major review themes: contextual and demographic variability of catastrophic health expenditure (CHE); socioeconomic and health system drivers; health and economic consequences; household coping strategies and social resilience; and governance, policy, and financial protection mechanisms. A notable strength of the dataset is that it captures comparable financial protection indicators wherever reported. These include CHE at different thresholds (10%, 25%, and 40%), mean positive overshoot, out-of-pocket (OOP) expenditure, health expenditure, poverty impact, and concentration index measures. It also records disease-specific focus, policy relevance, and, in a few cases, conceptual framing. Overall, this dataset serves as a coded review database that supports bibliometric analysis, thematic synthesis, and evidence mapping on financial risk protection and health-related economic burden in Bangladesh.
