Streptomyces shanivit is an endophytic streptomyces sps found in the tomato plant. Sequencing of the genome revealed the presence of novel secondary metabolites. Biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) are responsible for the metabolism of vitamins, pigment, terpenoids, polyketides, antioxidants, antimicrobials along with genes responsible for catabolism and anabolism of xenobiotics were found.
