Based on the long-term regular monitoring of the surface water environment in the Erhai Lake basin of Yunnan plateau lake by the National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station of the Erhai Lake Ecosystem, the data set of the characteristics of the water environment in the Erhai Lake basin of plateau lake from 2011 to 2020 is integrated. In this data set, there are 10 sampling points in a typical small watershed, which are distributed at the source, upstream, midstream, downstream and lake inlet of the small watershed. The sample collection time is at the beginning and middle of each month. The data includes 9 indicators such as physical characteristics and water chemical composition of the surface water environment. The monitoring process, laboratory analysis and data analysis are conducted under the guidance of the specifications and standards required by China Ecosystem Research Network (CREN) and the National Science and Technology Foundation Platform, and the data quality is reliable. It can provide important data for comprehensive assessment, management and planning of small watershed water environment and environmental science in terms of water environment protection, water pollution control and water environment health maintenance.
