Spiders produce various silk types with task-specific properties. The unique properties of spider silks are linked to the higher-order structure of spider silk proteins, spidroins, which contributes to their superior potential as novel biomaterials. We present a scaffold genome of the giant golden orb-weaver Nephila pilipes and full-length spidroins.
