These files were originally created as School files within the Education Department's records system. In 1988 they were extracted from the main series and consolidated separately. The files relate to individual tertiary institutions and concern administration, capital works, enrolments and academic and course requirements. There are also general files relating to Teachers Colleges/Colleges of Advanced Education and Universities covering funding, staffing, committees and general policy matters.
