These data confirmed that the soil naturally mixed with powdered caliche was employed for construction of Paquimé, which made it possible to construct massive earthen architecture. In case of Arroyo Seco, soil was obtained from the site where buildings were constructed. The results also indicate the plausibility that the soil was prepared desegregating collapsible surface of the bedrock in the cave, prior to construction of dwellings in Cueva de la Olla.
