<p>'Public Policies and Social Conditions: Monitoring the transition in Central and Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States', more commonly known as the MONEE project, was initiated by the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre in 1992. The project aim was to monitor, analyse and disseminate information on the situation of families in the region as it entered into an era of rapid social, political and economic changes. Today regular updates and dissemination of the data continue to raise awareness of and contribute to the international debate on how economic and social policies impact children, women and families in CEE/CIS.</p>
