Place cell spiking during running

Spiking of isolated CA1 cells while a rat runs along one track of a 3-arm maze. Only periods of running towards one of the 3 reward ports are preserved - other periods, including when the rat is running away from the reward port, are excluded. Sampling frequency is 25 Hz. Smoothing was achieved by applying a 1 Hz low-pass filter (8th order Butterworth applied bidirectionally prior to sub-selecting periods of running).neuInfo.mat additionally has a 403x2 matrix, data, the first column of which indicates whether the neuron is an interneuron (0 = non-interneuron, 1=interneuron); the second column of which indicates the confidence that a cell is an interneuron on a 0-5 scale (0 = very unlikely, 5 = very likely).This data set was generated for a mid-semester assessment for an undergraduate Computational Neuroscience course at the Claremont Colleges.
