Psychometric Properties of the Chinese Version of the Encouragement Character Strength Scale

A total of 598 undergraduate students and 433 teachersfrom Guangdong Province and Guizhou Province in China were recruited by university lecturers and tutors via a convenience sampling technique. Undergraduate students completed an online version of the Chinese version of the ECSS, the Chinese Virtues Questionnaire–Kindness subscale, the Dispositional Hope Scale, and the Flourishing Scale. Teachers completed an online version of the Chinese version of the ECSS, the Extraversion and Agreeableness subscale of Chinese Big Five Personality Inventory-15 and the 3-item version of the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale.
