This statistic displays the percentage of households that composted their waste through curbside collection in Canada in 2011, by major metropolitan area. During this year, about 71 percent of households in Toronto composted their waste through curbside collection programs. Moncton, Nova Scotia was one of the first cities to implement a composting program, a wet/dry waste separate program in 1999 with a weekly collection schedule.
