Care3D is an active 3D object detection dataset created by the Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), focusing on real-world robotic care environments. The dataset includes two scenarios captured during the Geriatronics Beacon Project at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Technical University of Munich respectively, with a total of 118 panoramic images and annotated objects. During the dataset's creation, the NavVis VLX device was used for 360° high-resolution scanning, ensuring high accuracy and authenticity of the data. The Care3D dataset is primarily intended for evaluating and developing robotic SLAM algorithms operating in care environments, addressing the labor shortage issue in the care industry and enabling robots to better understand and adapt to their surrounding environments.
