Deep XMM Survey of the Marano Field

GT We propose an XMM survey of a deep optical quasar survey field (Marano field, alpha03:15:09, delta55:13:57). The quasar survey is completeto B_J22.0 and comprises 54 quasars and 18 Seyfert and narrow emission linegalaxies in a 0.69 deg^2 field. The field has also been surveyed at far IRwavelengths by ISO. The XMM observations are planned as an overlapping 4x4raster of 6.2 ksec each, resulting in exposures ranging from 25100 ksec. Wewill study the Xray/optical/IR properties of the quasars and narrow emissionline galaxies and investigate their contribution to the cosmic Xray backgroundin the XMM energy range. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
