A Phase II, Randomized, Double-blind Study Shows That AllerPops Corrects Oral Probiotic Deficiency Leading to Sustained Allergy Relief

Allergic rhinitis has been on the rise in the last fifty years. More than one hundred million people in the US currently suffer from these seasonal or yearlong allergies. The root cause of allergic rhinitis is unknown, although the hygiene hypothesis was proposed as a potential explanation 30 years ago. We built on that hypothesis a few years ago with the specific oral hygiene hypothesis. Our longitudinal pilot study suggested oral probiotic deficiency is the cause of allergic rhinitis. This clinical trial was conducted to verify our theory and evaluate the effectiveness of AllerPops for allergy relief.
