"This dataset comprises 784,076 network packets (PCAP format) captured during controlled brute-force authentication attacks against an IOTA Hornet node dashboard. The data was generated in a lab environment with Snort and Suricata deployed as Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). The dataset includes full packet captures of the attack simulation, legitimate IOTA Peer-to-Peer (P2P) traffic on port 15600, and the corresponding custom IDS detection rules developed for both Snort and Suricata engines. This dataset is intended for researchers evaluating the effectiveness of signature-based intrusion detection in Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) environments, specifically those utilizing Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) architectures. It can be used to benchmark IDS performance, analyze attack patterns, or develop machine learning models for anomaly detection in IoT\/DLT networks."
