Angola (2012): TRAC STUDY EVALUATING CONTRACEPTIVE USE AMONG WOMEN IN LUANDA

BACKGROUND The purpose of conducting this community-level survey was to provide an assessment of the socio-demographics and sexual and reproductive health characteristics of women of reproductive age living in Luanda, Angola. The primary objectives of this survey were: (a) to determine the level of contraceptive use among sexually active women; and (b) to determine the factors associated with contraceptive use among women ages 15-24 and 25-49. Population Services International (PSI) provides reproductive health and contraceptive services to these communities and the results of this report will enable PSI to better understand and address the needs of these women by informing an upcoming intervention designed to provide comprehensive family planning and post-abortion care.
