Evidence suggests that dental erosion is triggered by repeated contact between the tooth and acidic substances along with mechanical stress. Taking into account that athletes are exposed to both the consumption of sports drinks and mechanical stress when they train and compete, it would be assumed that they are candidates for presenting a higher prevalence of dental erosion. Therefore, the objective of this research was to determine the erosive potential of sports drinks, energy drinks, and isotonic solutions on the teeth of athletes.
