To identify new regulators of stomatal development, we assay the transcriptomes of plants bearing enriched stomatal lineage cells undergoing active divisions. Overexpression of a truncated SPCH variant, SPCH∆49 that is insensitive to MAPK-triggered protein phosphorylation for degradation, produces excessive stomatal lineage cells in wild type and basl mutant background. Then comparative transcriptome analysis was conducted to identify noval stomata formation regulators
