Enterobacter sp. FY-07 can produce bacterial cellulose in static cultivation at 30°C under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Due to the excellent physiochemical properties of bacterial cellulose, Enterobacter sp. FY-07 has potential applications in many industries such as paper making, food, medicine, headphone and loudspeaker membranes and oil exploration. Enterobacter sp. FY-07 was the first reported strain which can produce BC under anaerobic conditions. Currently, genome sequencing has been completed. However, genome sequencing analysis cannot clarify the similarities and difference of BC synthesis mechanism under different oxygen conditions. To investigate possible BC synthesis mechanisms under aerobic and anaerobic conditions, we compared the gene expression profiles of Enterobacter sp. FY-07 under aerobic conditions and anaerobic conditions.
