Regional Hourly ABI and VIIRS Emissions (RAVE)

The Regional ABI and VIIRS Emissions (RAVE) Version 2 is an advanced biomass-burning emissions inventory developed to enhance air quality forecasting across North America. This system integrates high-temporal-resolution data from the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) on NOAA's GOES satellites with fine-spatial-resolution data from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on JPSS satellites to provide hourly emissions estimates at a spatial resolution of approximately 3 km. The emissions data include various pollutants such as carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), fine particulate matter (PM2.5), sulfur dioxide (SO2, organic carbon (OC), black carbon (BC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), ammonia (NH3), methane (CH4), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). RAVE is one of six data products available in NOAA's Fire and Smoke collection found under the Office of Satellite and Product Operations Land Products.
