<b><i>Bacillus cereus</i></b><b> group </b>isolates from food and animal

A total of 512 B. cereus group clinical isolates were identified from 2,694 stool samples, and we examined their prevalence, phenotypic characteristics, genetic profiles, and pathogenicity. The detection rate of B. cereus group strains was significantly higher in diarrheal cases (37.16%, 479/1,289) than in non-diarrheal samples (2.35%, 33/1,405), with a risk difference of 34.81% (95% CI [31.71%, 37.91%], p<0.001).
